Know What You're Actually Earning

Ever been offered a job and wondered "wait, what does that actually work out to per hour?" Or maybe someone quotes you an hourly rate and you want to know the annual equivalent before accepting. This calculator does all the conversions instantly — annual, monthly, biweekly, weekly, daily, and hourly.

How to Use It

Pick your currency, enter your salary amount, select the pay period it's in (like annual or hourly), and you'll get an instant breakdown across all time periods. The calculator automatically detects your country and applies the relevant tax brackets — with filing status options for countries like the US that have multiple options. Flip open the Advanced Options to add bonuses or deductions.

Tax Estimates for 15+ Countries

The calculator includes up-to-date income tax brackets for India, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Mexico, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Each country shows its correct tax year, regime name, and standard deduction. For currencies without tax data, you still get a complete salary breakdown.

The Hourly Rate Reality Check

Here's a quick mental shortcut: take your annual salary, drop three zeros, and divide by 2. That's roughly your hourly rate. So 100,000/year ≈ 50/hr. Works the other way too — multiply your hourly rate by 2,080 (40 hrs × 52 weeks) for your annual equivalent.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Gross ≠ Net — the number on your offer letter isn't what hits your bank account. Taxes, PF, insurance, and other deductions chip away at it.
  • Overtime — if you regularly work 50+ hours a week on a salary, your effective hourly rate is lower than you think.
  • Benefits matter — a lower salary with great health insurance and retirement matching might beat a higher salary without benefits.
  • Negotiate — knowing your hourly equivalent helps you negotiate with confidence.
