Everything you need to know

Convert Any Speed Unit

Whether you're checking a speed limit abroad, comparing vehicle specs, or doing physics homework, this converter handles all the common speed units. Enter a value in km/h, mph, m/s, ft/s, knots, or Mach and instantly see the equivalent in every other unit.

Common Speed Conversions

The most frequent conversion is km/h to mph. Multiply km/h by 0.621 for a quick estimate (or divide by 1.609). For m/s to km/h, multiply by 3.6. And 1 knot equals 1.852 km/h — useful for anyone following maritime or aviation speeds.

The Mach Scale

Mach 1 is the speed of sound in air at sea level (approximately 343 m/s or 767 mph). Supersonic speeds (above Mach 1) are used to describe fighter jets and experimental aircraft. The Concorde cruised at Mach 2.04. This converter uses the standard sea-level value for Mach calculations.

Reference Table

The built-in reference table shows common speeds in context: walking pace, running speed, city driving, highway speeds, bullet trains, commercial airplanes, the speed of sound, and even the speed of light. This helps you visualize what a speed value actually means in real-world terms.
